Streetkids in Panama: Project
We are very satisfied about our project for streetkids in Lima. Within a short timeframe it appeared to be possible to reach a relatively large group of these children and to get them out of their vicious circle of life. We started to offer them education, better health services and more balanced food. Of course, also this project encountered obstacles, but the first results are there! Within little bit more than 6 months this project has proven to be self sustaining from an organizational and a financial point of view.

Essential for this success was the excellent cooperation with the Bruce Peru Organisation. Together we have decided to expand this project to Ecuador where they are confronted with similar needs.

By this project we want to persuade indigenous Panamian people who traditionally will not permit their children to participate in formal educational programmes. The resulting illiteracy and ignorance of how to cope in a modern society and economy has condemned them to poverty. They remain malnourished, diseased and impoverished in the midst of one of Latin America's wealthiest economies.
