Since December 17 the KinderZon Foundation has an own page on HYVES, see http://www.hyves.nl/hyves/9169472/Stichting_KinderZon/.
Within a few days more than 100 people became member. It is a great way to reach young people and to show them the good work of KinderZon.
School reintegrationproject in Iquitos (Peru)
KinderZon is supporting the new reintegrationproject for children who dropped out of the schoolsystem. This project will be runned by our well-known Jos van Echtelt en Dennis Endicott with whom we did more projects in Peru. Thanks to the Kiwanis Foundation region St. Oedenrode we could close the budget for this project. You can read more about this project, by clicking here.
Kiwanis
The St. Oedenrode region of the serviceclub Kiwanis decided to allocate part of the revenue of the 2008 edition of the so-called "klumpkes race" to KinderZon. Meanwhile € 10.000 has been collected for which € 5.000 is for KinderZon. Thanks for choosing KinderZon!
Money raised for streetkids
A lady who has found us via the internet decided to ask her family and friends not to give presents for her 40th birthday. Instead, she asked for donations to KinderZon to support streetkids. In total € 225 has been received. Thanks for the great initiative.
Visit to project in Ukraine
On May 5th 2008 the chairman of KinderZon visited (of course on own expenses) the children's home in Romny. It was great to see how this help was needed. Thanks for the very friendly welcome.
Fundraising re retirement
Mrs. Inge van Kesteren, our highly valued member of the Committee of Recommendation, will retire as paediatrician in April 2008. As she does not want to recive any personal gifts, she asked donations for KinderZon. As she was always available to help children, it is now time for herself, enjoy!
The status of this fundraising is € 1.567,50.
Editorial support
Since January 2008 Viola Kloet voluntarily supports for editorial activities. Thank you for doing so.
Playsets for the Ukraine
Together with a City in the Centre of the Netherlands and SITA we were able to transport good secondhand playsets for children in the Ukraine. Read more at "initiatives".
Large donation for Georgia en Ukraine
Thanks to a substantial donation we almost completed our fundraising for these two projects. More info in due time.
Additional money to Lima
More and more children want to come to the Bruce Peru schools in Lima. To support these costs we transferred an additional US$ 1.500.
Structural and local support for Bruce Peru
In the beginning of 2006 KinderZon gave positive advice about Bruce Peru to Jos van Echteld and Dennis Endicott. They were looking for a foreign voluntary organization which they could help locally. In September 2006 they started in Peru. Due to private circumstances and because Jos en Dennis enjoyed very much what they were doing, they decided to stay for a much longer period and to take over a substantial part of the activities of Bruce. After KinderZon supported the start of the project in Lima, we now again have Dutch support thanks to Jos en Dennis. We wish them lots of success!
6-year old girl together with her mum chooses for KinderZon
Her e-mail message:
"From old parts of candles I created my own candles. I sold these at home and at the special market at school. 2/3 of the profit is for KinderZon. The total amount is
€ 57,40, so my mother will transfer € 38,30 to Kinderzon. I hope that I have helped a little to help other children".
For sure you did Nova, super!

Georgia
Momentarily we are preparing to support a maternity clinic by improving their watersupply and sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, we had to cancel a planned visit in december, but we are trying to find a new date early in 2007 (read more).
Ukraine
Parallel to the initiative mentioned above we have the intention to support a children’s home in Romny in the Ukraine by improving their sanitary facilities and heating. Urgent support is needed here as well (read more).
Success in Panama and Ecuador leads to structural approach
In 2006 KinderZon donated in total US$ 30.000 to support the start-up of the streetkids projects in Panama and Ecuador. Within few months three schools were operating in Panama and two in Ecuador. By doing so, approximately 100 kids changed from a life on streets into a new start at school to build on a better future. The Bruce Peru Organization is going to further grow these intiatives. More information about these project can be read at 'realized projects'.
